We are looking for professional truck drivers to join us and become part of our Arrow family. As a professional driver with Arrow Transportation Systems Inc, working for the Chilliwack Mining Branch, you will have the opportunity to haul B train trailers and operate various equipment from tandem to tri drive trucks. We primarily haul Biosolids from various water treatments facilities in Chilliwack, Vancouver & Kamloops to various drop sites in Princeton, Kamloops & Clinton and we backhaul Ore (Concentrate) from Princeton Mine & Mount Polley Mine to Pembina Port in North Vancouver. We Offer
- Competitive Pay: $35.50 per hour (trip rated); approximately $73,840 – $103,376 per year.
- Pension: $4.05 per hour (approx $8,424.00 – $11,793.60 per year) 100% paid by Arrow.
- Full Benefits include dental, life insurance, pharmaceutical, vision care, chiropractor, massage, EAP, and more. 100% paid by Arrow.
- Shift: Friday to Monday in a day cab truck. Start time 3-4:00am. 10-14 hour shift.

Responsibilities
As an Arrow Ore Haul driver, you will be hauling products that are directly related to the Strength and Diversity of the region.
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations.
- Perform pre and post and en route trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.
- Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver\'s hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions.
- Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics.
- Efficiently maneuver truck and trailer(s) into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- May operate loading equipment as per role requirements.
- Check mobile equipment (e.g. front-end loaders) to ensure that mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to the relevant supervisor.
- Report all safety hazards or conditions encountered at load, unload, yard and shop sites.
- Record, maintain and check all relevant paperwork (i.e. bill of lading) and documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
- Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
- Complete electronic and/or manual logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with the public, customers, and co-workers.
- Assist in loading and unloading of trucks.
- Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure.
- Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements. Tarping loads may be a requirement.
- Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of truck is cleaned up.
- Provide feedback to supervisor/dispatch regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems.
- Ensure that all customers, co-workers and the public are dealt with professionally and with respect.
- Train others when required.
You Possess
- Proven ability to drive in snow and to chain tires when necessary
- Ability to drive in other adverse weather conditions
- Super B and mountain driving experience is an asset
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Class 1 driver’s license and MELT
- Clean drivers abstract or record
- Air brake endorsement
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, in order to safely perform job duties, including reading safety documentation, completing required reports, and communicating with dispatch and site personnel
- Ability to move 100 pounds, lift 50 lbs overhead and lift to shoulder height 75lbs
- Ability to sit long durations
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test
- Ability to take and follow direction
- Ability to understand cross training on all functions at facility
- Strong safety mindset and quality oriented
- Needs to be responsible, accountable and dependable
- Demonstrates strong communication skills both verbally and written
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Computer Literate
- Basic understanding of vehicle and trailer maintenance requirements
- Organizational abilities including task prioritization and adherence to timelines
- Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
