Position Overview


Sales Associates provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. They emphasize department and product knowledge, provide information on product features, and are familiar with related items to sell an entire project. Associates greet, engage, thank, and serve customers in their department and other departments. Focus is on customer service and solving customer needs.


Key Responsibilities



  • Follow Home Depot’s GET model of customer service: Greeting, Engaging, Thanking.

  • Actively seek customers and escort them to merchandise across departments.

  • Ask open‑ended questions about projects to assess needs and expertise.

  • Promote services such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, Pro Services.

  • Discuss options (good, better, best) and suggest related items/services.

  • Educate customers about the whole project.

  • Use empowerment program as needed to satisfy customers.

  • Maintain daily stock: sign, display, and clean all products.

  • Proactively seek knowledge on all products and services.

  • Doors frequently open causing drafts and temperature changes.


Minimum Education



  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1‑2 years Retail or Trade experience (asset)
