Job Description
DescriptionThe Process Engineer is responsible for providing troubleshooting, process analyses, optimization and improvement support the mill Technical and Operations groups.
Responsibilities- Lead and participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving initiatives, trials, optimization work and other improvement projects
- Analyze process trends, interpret data and propose solutions.
- Work to improve process, environmental and quality performance.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement of the operation.
- Provide technical and operational input and support to capital project teams, including review of P&ID's and process control logic.
- Communicate process changes all while adhering to and promoting safe work practices.
- Other duties as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of Pulp & Paper industry experience is required
- Experience with Recovery Boilers, steam turbines, and/or water treatment systems is highly desirable
- Experience supporting capital projects, including commissioning and startup of complex systems would be an asset
- Experience in troubleshooting process issues and optimizing system performance
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including project managers, contractors, and operations personnel
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Well-developed organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Interest in a variety of business functions, such as Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Technical, Project Management and Safety
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Curiosity and persistence - you are a problem-solver with natural tendency to ask questions
- Strong focus on safety and process improvement
- Drive, initiative, teamwork
- Language required: English
