We have over 30 years of experience providing emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, replacements, and new construction services to commercial, industrial, and institutional properties. Our roofers are known for their professionalism and problem-solving abilities. We are located at 3 Industrial Drive, Thorold, ON, L2V 3W1.
D.F. Brown Roofing is seeking an experienced Commercial & Industrial Flat Roofing Estimator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong field experience who understands commercial roofing systems and can produce accurate, competitive estimates. This is a full-time permanent position. The hourly wage is $37.98 per hour for 40 hours per week. This posting is for an existing vacancy. D.F. Brown Roofing does not use Artificial Intelligence as part of their hiring process.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial flat roofing projects
- Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bid forms
- Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Conduct site visits to assess scope, access, and existing conditions
- Complete quantity take-offs and pricing
- Create digital roof plans complete with drainage layout and installation plans
- Liaise with suppliers and internal project teams
- Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
- Identify risks, assumptions, and exclusions
- Support project handover and ongoing project execution
Position Requirements
- Construction Engineering Technology (CET) diploma completed
- Minimum 3 years of estimating experience
- Minimum 2 years Hands-on field experience in commercial/industrial flat roofing required
- Experience using AutoCAD or equivalent software programs
- Experience using CRM Software, BuilderTrend/Roof Logic or equivalent programs
- Knowledge of flat roofing systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM, SBS, BUR)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license
