Job Description

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility will be to program a three axis CNC machines. The majority of products to be cut are Fiberglass Reinforced Products (FRP) for the waste water and electrical industries. Each of these parts will be custom designed.

This position includes working with the design engineers and Project Manager to ensure the products are fabricated as per drawing. There will be considerable hands on work required to Program and Operate the equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate MultiCam Apex 1 CNC router
  • Read CAD drawings and Program and CNC to fabricate parts
  • Operate the equipment and check fabricated parts to ensure that it meets the print.
  • Work with the engineering team to develop/optimize the cutting patterns.
  • Work with the Production Manager and other production team members including the CSR team to meet customer's delivery schedule.
  • May be asked to work on nesting of parts to increase the yield from raw stock.
  • Ensure documentation required for the customer is accurate and complete, also develop way to improve the documentation process
  • Participate in production scheduling meeting to help with the priorities at Protectolite
  • Propose ideas for production improvement at the Shop Floor
  • Use Fundamental Engineering Concepts to improve product development
  • Learn about the composite business and manufacturing as a whole.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Make Protectolite a work safe environment

Job Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Must to know to program using CAM software such as Enroute
  • Must have a willingness to learn about composite manufacturing
  • Experience in using fundamental engineering principles
  • Experience in making improvements to current processes
  • Ability to learn new skills and adopt best practices
  • Ability to read blueprint, GD&T and tolerances

Education:

  • 2-3 Year College Diploma in Engineering or CAD
  • Or Equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

  • Two to Five years experience in design with CAD software
  • Experience from Foreign Country is acknowledged and welcomed
  • Highly Motivated and results oriented.
  • Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Ability to lead a project through team activities
  • In-depth knowledge of CAD principles and Computer Systems
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.11-$24.00 per hour
