About Us

Allergy Clinic is a specialized medical practice in the heart of Kelowna, providing specialist diagnostic and therapeutic care for pediatric and adult patients with allergy and immunology conditions. Our specialized nursing team is dedicated to delivering compassionate, community-centered care. We operate in a collaborative environment, working in direct partnership with an Allergy & Immunology specialist to provide expert diagnostic and therapeutic services.

About the Role

Working in direct partnership with our lead Allergy Physician and nursing team, the Clinic Nurse (RN/RPN) provides high-level clinical care. You will be responsible for administering specialized diagnostic procedures and treatments and ensuring all protocols reflect the highest standards of evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Excellence: Perform and interpret diagnostic tests including skin prick testing, intradermal testing, and subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
  • Treatment Administration: Safely administer and monitor immunotherapy (allergy shots), and other specialized treatments.
  • Ensure all clinic procedures and standards of care.
  • Manage inventory: ensuring the consistent availability of allergy extracts, emergency medications, and other medical supplies in the treatment room.
  • Emergency Response: Provide immediate, expert intervention in the event of anaphylactic or adverse reactions.

Compensation & Benefits

Wages: Hourly rate of $42.00-$45.00 (commensurate with experience).

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Degree in Nursing with current, valid registration as an RN or RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in medical record-keeping and inventory management.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building collaborative relationships with patients and staff.
  • Physically capable of performing all nursing duties in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Other Requirements:

  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Medical clearance for clinical duties.
