About the Role
We are a construction company seeking an Apprentice Automotive Mechanic to assist with the maintenance and repair of our light truck and service vehicle fleet. This is an in-house position focused on learning proper diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repair procedures in a real fleet environment.
This role is ideal for someone who wants steady work, consistent mentorship, and hands-on experience without flat-rate pressure or customer-facing stress.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed mechanics with maintenance and repairs on light-duty trucks
- Perform oil changes, brake work, inspections, and preventative maintenance
- Learn diagnostic procedures for mechanical and electrical issues
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
- Keep tools and work areas clean and safe
- Follow company safety procedures at all times
- Continue progress through apprenticeship levels as required
Requirements
- Registered or eligible Automotive Service Technician Apprentice
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Valid driver's license
- Own basic hand tools
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Assets
- Previous experience in a shop or fleet setting
- Familiarity with pickup trucks and service vehicles
- Interest in diesel light trucks
- Welding or fabrication exposure
