Established in 1922 as a private golf club, The Thornhill Club has evolved into a distinguished all-season destination with a rich history and a commitment to excellence. The expansion into year-round activities began in 1963 with the addition of a curling rink, transforming our club into a versatile haven for members. Today, our facilities boast an eighteen-hole championship golf course, a nine-hole executive golf course, a curling rink, a full fitness facility, outdoor tennis courts, golf practice areas, a banquet hall and boardroom style rooms for private functions, and of course the clubhouse.
Job Summary
As the Administration and Accounting Assistant, we are looking for a positive and vibrant person to work with and assist the Administrative and Accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
Administration
Membership filing
Entering changes to member contact information
Entering Club gift certificates into accounting system
Entering tennis, pool, wellness, fitness, and camp billings to member accounts
Entering of cash receipts (payments) to member accounts
Cross trained in POS end of day reconciliation for personnel back up purposes
Making credit/billing adjustments to member accounts
Food & Beverage/Catering/Point of Sale
Private party deposit entries in accounting system and maintaining Excel listing
Balancing private party deposits general ledger to Excel listing
Private party closing through accounting system
Entering adjustments for closed private parties
Entering club function billings to member accounts
Balancing private party clearing general ledger account at month end
Checking private party system module at month end to ensure that all functions have been accounted for
Checking of food & beverage point of sale entry errors
Tracking and reporting server errors to A/R Manager to provide basis for server training to reduce repeat issues
Qualifications:
Prior experience in administration and accounting preferred.
Prior experience at a golf course and/or private club is an asset.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strong data entry skills with a
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft office.
Experience with Jonas Club software an asset.
Position Details:
Part-time 24-35 hours per week, depending on seasonal work loads.
Hourly compensation of $20.00 per hour.
Discounted meals during shifts.
On-site parking.
Dress code – Business casual.
Participation in internal and staff appreciation events.
Ability to golf during evenings and slow times.
