Accounting Supervisor
This is a senior position with a high degree of responsibility and potential for career growth in an expanding and successful company serving mining and mineral exploration clients in Canada and internationally.
Location: Whitehorse, Yukon
Permanent employment: Full time
Annual Salary: up to $100k based on experience.
Benefits: Extended health insurance, assistance with relocation costs if applicable
Experience: Minimum five years' experience in accounting/finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Recognized accounting certifications, such as CMA or CPA, would be highly beneficial.
Responsibilities include:
· Oversee and perform daily accounting operations, including client invoicing, accounts payable, banking and payroll administration
· Supervise and train accounting staff
· Co-ordinate, assign and review work
· Ensure accuracy of financial records and adherence to accounting standards, tax regulations and internal policies
· Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve accounting processes
· Co-ordinate activities with other departments to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information
· Prepare monthly financial reports
· Participate in year end audit and preparation of financial statements
Skills include:
· Solid understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
· Ability to lead and motivate a team of accountants.
· Ability to identify and resolve accounting issues.
· High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
· Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work to deadlines while managing competing priorities
