We are currently seeking a dependable and professional Yard Shunter (Class 1) to join our team for night shift terminal operations. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy a structured work environment, excel in coordinating trailer movements, and are committed to safety and operational efficiency. What You'll Do:
- Safely perform shunting duties within the terminal, including trailer spotting, trailer swaps, and yard coordination.
- Move equipment between loading docks, yard lanes, and designated staging areas.
- Ensure accurate trailer placement to support smooth freight flow and on‑time dispatch.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections on tractors and report any defects promptly.
- Maintain communication with dispatch, dock staff, and operations teams to support daily scheduling needs.
- Keep assigned equipment clean and in good working order.
What You'll Need to Drive with Team Armour:
- A valid Class 1 license with no restrictions, and a clean driver’s abstract.
- Proven ability to operate manual transmission trucks, with recent experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years driving a tractor‑trailer, or equivalent yard experience.
- Strong understanding of yard safety, trailer handling, and backing skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced terminal environment.
- Experience with freight terminals, dock operations, or yard management systems is an asset.
