DD Mau started off as a small Vietnamese banh mi shop in Yaletown in 2012 and with our Chinatown location, we are serving more than just sandwiches. We offer an expanded menu that provides the downtown area with awesome Vietnamese street food and cocktails. Think Vietnamese food meets Japanese Izakaya with live DJ's throughout the week. We are a growing company that is looking to recruit and build a strong team to be a part of our family.

We are looking for:

• Servers; Part-time: Tues - Sat from 11am - 5:30pm, 5:30pm - Closing

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and guide guest's complete dining and DD Mau experience
• Provide knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful service at all times
• Full knowledge of food and beverage menu items including the major components of a dish/drink; this may include ingredients and their source, simple descriptions of unfamiliar ingredients, preparation, and/or execution of correct food and beverage service
• Adhere to all company service standards and protocols
• Confident and correct use of POS system for order entry and payment processing
• Ensure food and beverage arrive to guests quickly and correctly; and confirming guest satisfaction
• Ensure proper table maintenance, including water service, pre-bussing, etc.
• Ensure guests are charged correctly and receive proof of payment in a timely manner
• Communicate respectfully with chefs (and kitchen team) as necessary
• Support team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after service
• Engage management for any guest issue or complaint
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of service tools and service areas
• Stocking and preparing service related items
• Adhere to grooming and dress code standards

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years serving experience in a high volume environment
• Strong food and beverage knowledge and a passion for the service industry
• Must possess exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude
• Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback
• Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment
• Basic food and alcohol beverage knowledge preferred
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative attitude

Shift availability:

• Tues - Sat from 11am - 5:30pm, 5:30pm - Closing

Requirements:

• Serving it Right Certification preferred
• Minimum 2 year restaurant experience as a server.
• Vietnamese language and knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine is an asset.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.85-$18.25 per hour
