Prairie Mountain Health is recruiting two (2) skilled & ambitious Urologists to join our healthcare team in Brandon, Manitoba. As the successful applicant, you will be responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating urologic disorders, including surgical procedures, ordering diagnostic tests, and consulting with and providing urologic expertise to other physicians and healthcare providers as required.
Brandon Regional Health Centre has 309 beds, which includes 10 ICU beds. Diagnostic services include radiology, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. A wide range of specialist services are available onsite, including pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, anesthesia, general surgery, radiology, nuclear medicine, oncology, orthopedic surgery, and internal medicine.
Applicants may join one of the various clinics throughout the city. All private clinics will have a competitive overhead rate and multiple teaching opportunities if this interests the applicant. Brandon hosts a University of Manitoba satellite campus for clinical clerk positions and resident training through the CaRMS match. The successful candidate(s) will also have the opportunity for an appointment at the University of Manitoba.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
- Before starting the practice, you are required to obtain medico‑legal insurance with the Canadian Medical Protective Association or with another carrier at your expense
- Must provide Criminal record check, Child and Adult abuse check prior to starting practice
- Language of work: English
Remuneration
Fee‑for‑service based on an agreement between Doctors Manitoba and Manitoba Healthy Living and Seniors (MHHLS).
Dependent on volume, anticipated fee‑for‑service annual compensation is $300,000.00 - $500,000.00, based on 40 hours a week (excluding on‑call work). The income is derived from all sources during the regular working day and does not include medical services provided after hours, weekends, or holidays.
On‑call stipends are paid separately per the Doctors Manitoba negotiated rates. For 24‑hour off‑site on‑call, the current rate is $597.43. As a fee‑for‑service physician, you can bill fee‑for‑service while on‑call.

Location and Background
Prairie Mountain Health covers an area of 66,201 square kilometres on the southwestern side of the Province of Manitoba, with a population of 169,760. The region includes 115 towns and communities, including the city of Brandon, the referral centre for a catchment area of nearly 200,000 people, including 14 First Nations communities and four French language communities.
Prairie Mountain Health employs over 8,000 staff and operates 22 acute care/transitional facilities and 42 long‑term care facilities. There are approximately 170 primary care physicians and 67 specialists providing medical services in the area.
Brandon is a thriving city with over 51,000 residents, located 200 km west of Winnipeg on the Trans‑Canada Highway. The city offers retail, medical, educational and cultural amenities while maintaining a moderate cost of living and short commutes to the workplace.
Riding Mountain National Park is a one‑hour drive north of the city, and the Peace Gardens lie just over an hour to the south on the Manitoba/North Dakota border. Brandon’s vibrant community hosts provincial, national and international events and is known as the “Wheat City.”
