Store Manager at The Shoe Co. reports to the District Manager and leads the store to achieve objectives across in-store sales, web orders, recruiting, performance management, training, and development. Success depends on problem-solving, thriving in a fast-paced environment, team leadership, and execution of operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Assumes leadership with accountability for maximizing store business results by consistently creating exceptional customer experiences.
  • Facilitates achievement of business results by modeling a shopping experience that emphasizes responsive customer service, compelling merchandise presentation, and operational integrity to foster customer connections and loyalty.
  • Leads an operationally sound business by balancing company policies, procedures, shrink/loss prevention, payroll, reporting, and scheduling.
  • Recruits, manages, develops, and trains top talent who have a love of shoes.
  • Aims to achieve company objectives and enhance The Shoe Co. brand image by modeling values of Passion, Accountability, Collaboration, and Authenticity/Humility.
  • Develops and implements agile business plans to achieve results.
  • Fosters teamwork, collaboration, and change advocacy within the store and district.
  • Maintains effective, open lines of communication with senior operational managers.

Qualifications

  • Educational background: relevant post-secondary education.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a progressive retail supervisory role.
  • Proven success in achieving sales and profitability targets in large-volume, top-door environments.
  • Positive, energetic team player with strong leadership capability.
  • Proven ability to motivate others.
  • Proficiency with computer use, including email, word processing, and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel).
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while delivering a compelling customer experience.
  • Ability to work day, closing shifts, and weekends.
  • Mobile within a geographic area.
