The opportunity

Your key responsibilities



  • Configure and customize Guidewire Insurance platform– including product model, rating logic policy transactions, claim workflows, exposure handling, user interface (PCF files), billing plans payment processing, and invoicing workflows.

  • Develop and maintain Gosu code, XML configurations, data model extensions, and PCF files for Billing Centre.

  • Integrate Guidewire Insurance platform with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs and messaging frameworks.

  • Perform unit testing (GUnit) and support system/integration testing.

  • Participate in Guidewire Cloud deployments, upgrades, and maintenance activities.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues and defects promptly.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Ensure adherence to Guidewire best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.


Skills And Attributes For Success



  • Working knowledge of Core Java, Gosu, XML, Web Services (SOAP/REST), API Integrations.

  • Experience in production support activities like queue management, plug‑in related issues, and batch file generations.

  • Experience with tools like ServiceNow, JIRA, Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps.

  • Understanding of service management and change management activities, along with SLA and estimator tools.

  • Experience working on incident management and problem management.

  • Experience with Service delivery life cycle along with release planning and management.


To qualify for the role you must have



  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3‑5 years of experience in technical operations, software development, or IT support.

  • Hands‑on experience with Guidewire Insurance platform.

  • Proficiency in Gosu, Java, XML, and Guidewire Studio.

  • Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar platforms desired.

  • Familiar with API integrations, batch processing, and messaging.


Ideally, you’ll also have



  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, AWS Certified Developer, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate).

  • Advanced programming or scripting language certifications (e.g., Java, Python, or PowerShell).

  • Guidewire technical/functional certification.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.

  • Familiarity with basic development tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) is a plus.

Salary


EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.



  • Toronto/London/Ottawa/Waterloo/Vancouver/VictoriaDieppe :$48,000 to $72,000
