Job Overview
Engineering For Kids York Region is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Summer Camp Assistant to join our team for the 2026 season. The ideal candidate will support the smooth daily operation of our camps, uphold safety and policy standards, and collaborate effectively with camp counsellors, municipal partners, and recreation teams.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and is passionate about creating fun, safe, and engaging learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Camp directors in multiple summer camp locations, ensuring adherence to policies and safety protocols
- Provide lunchtime coverage for camp counsellors (daily from 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
- Communicate and coordinate with camp counsellors, recreation teams, and municipal partners
- Communicate with parents when required
- Oversee beginning‑of‑day and end‑of‑day camp procedures
- Attend all mandatory training sessions, including municipal and policy‑specific training, prior to camp season
- Assist with delivery and pickup of equipment to and from camp locations as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in a camp or recreation environment
- Experience facilitating children's programming
- Team‑leading experience is an asset
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Required Certifications:
- Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Mandatory Driving Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Unlimited/unrestricted access to a reliable personal vehicle (required for travel between camp locations)

Mondays: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Tuesdays–Thursdays: 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Fridays: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
