Oak Bay HR is supporting a growing and well-established construction firm in their search for an experienced Senior Site Superintendent. About the Role
The Senior Site Superintendent is the on-site leader responsible for executing projects from kickoff to completion. This role plays a critical part in maintaining schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety performance. Working closely with the Project Manager, the Superintendent acts as the primary on-site contact and central point of coordination between trade partners, design professionals, clients, and internal teams. Beyond project execution, this role emphasizes mentorship, system development, and strengthening operational consistency across job sites.
Responsibilities
- Exceptional Project Delivery - Execute project details to the highest standard of craftsmanship while proactively leading on-site teams.
- Safety Leadership - Foster a culture of safety where every team member and trade partner goes home safely each day.
- Deepening Relationships - Strengthen relationships with trade partners and professional collaborators to ensure efficient and collaborative execution.
- Mentorship & Systemization - Support team development and contribute to improving systems, processes and standard operating procedures.
- Financial Management Support - Assist the Project Manager in maintaining project budgets and managing change orders effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution
- Lead regular coordination meetings to ensure alignment on timelines, scope and quality expectations.
- Support scheduling using look-ahead planning processes to optimize workflow and minimize trade overlap.
- Manage project close-out, including deficiencies, inspections, and transition coordination.
- Assist with tracking change orders and supporting budget oversight.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams.
- Provide mentorship, coaching and performance feedback.
- Strengthen and expand trade partnerships to support growth.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote proactive site safety practices and daily toolbox talks.
- Address and elevate safety concerns in alignment with WCB and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to site standards, inspection processes and reporting requirements.
Operational Systems & Coordination
- Maintain accurate job packages, documentation and trade scopes.
- Support QA/QC processes through checklists and progress reporting.
- Coordinate with professional partners to maintain compliance and project flow.

Qualifications
- Experience in underground parking and concrete construction.
- Multi-family residential construction experience.
- Townhome or subdivision community building experience, including infrastructure and servicing.
- Proven leadership in collaborative construction environments.
Compensation
$110,000–$120,000 annually
