Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and support design, development, and maintenance of ETL processes using Informatica Cloud (IDMC).
  • Migrate Informatica PowerCentre v10.2 ETL code including embedded SQL and PL/SQL code developed using Oracle 11g and 19c
  • Test migrated embedded SQL code and PL/SQL based Stored Procedures. 
  • Performance-tune and optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code for performance and scalability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and resolve ETL issues, including performance tuning and recovery to achieve optimum baseline-based performance
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various sources into data warehouses (star/snowflake schemas).
  • Translate technical specifications into fully tested applications and data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with vendor and entire project team for unit testing, debugging, and validation of ETL processes.
  • Document technical designs, deployment guides, and support materials.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles and iterative delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and access control policies.
  • Provide post-implementation support and participate in knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Provide database administration including configuration, backup/recovery, user roles, database



  • Requirements

    Experience and Skill Set Requirements:

    Must Haves:

  • 10+ years of experience as a BI/ETL Developer.
  • 10 + years of experience developing and performance tuning SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL and advanced SQL query optimization.
  • 10+ years experience with Oracle tools: EXPLAIN PLAN, TKPROF, OEM, RMAN, etc.
  • 5+ years Experience with relational database including Oracle including Oracle 11g and 19c.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter v10.2 administration
  • 2+ years of experience with Informatica Cloud (IDMC) including PC to IDMC migration; asset management; and configuration of secure agents, schedules, orgs and sub-Orgs, connections, users and roles
  • Hands-on Oracle 11g and 19c experience configuring, user roles setup, RMAN, data dumps, and Golden Gate synchronization
  • Proficiency in data modeling (OLTP, OLAP, dimensional modeling).
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, system integration, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Experience with data replication, data cleansing, and data quality assurance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Skill Set Requirements:

    Desirable Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Agile, SDLC, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and version control systems.
  • Familiarity with OPS (Ontario Public Service) methodologies and enterprise architecture.
  • Experience in public sector projects, especially in environmental or inter-jurisdictional data systems.
  • Understanding of Information Management principles and data governance.
  • ETL Expertise:

  • Design, develop, modify and enhance Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code for Oracle 11g and 19c
  • Performance-tune and optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code for performance and scalability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and resolve ETL issues, including performance tuning and recovery to achieve optimum baseline-based performance
  • Utilize Oracle tools: EXPLAIN PLAN, TKPROF, OEM, RMAN, etc.
  • Informatica Experience:

  • Design, develop and maintain ETLs using Informatica PowerCentre v10.2 and IDMC
  • Administer Informatica PowerCentre and IDMC including asset management; and configuration of secure agents, schedules, orgs and sub-Orgs, connections, users and roles
  • Migration of Informatica assets from PowerCentre v10.2 to IDMC
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

  • Demonstrated analytical skills in identifying issues and developing effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Proven track record of meeting project deadlines and managing deliverables within project constraints.
  • Familiarity with structured methodologies for software development and the ability to adapt to emerging technologies in GIS.
  • Demonstrated experience of Oracle 11g and 19c administration including Golden Gate synchronization
  • Collaboration & Communication:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with both vendor and project cross-functional teams throughout the project.
  • Proven experience of technical documentation and communication to stakeholders
  • OPS Experience:

  • Prior experience working with OPS as a senior ETL Developer
  • Prior experience working with Public Sector as a senior ETL Developer
