As a Regional Vice President, Wealth
You will report to the AVP, Wealth Distribution and provide leadership and direction for the implementation and ongoing support of Meridian's Wealth Management strategy. You will develop practice management standards, assist in the development of annual sales plans and budgets for the Wealth Management line of the business, and lead a team of Financial Planners to achieve established sales targets and operational goals. The role also provides consultative support to Branch Managers and other licensed positions within the region and supports an integrated approach to wealth by researching and recommending strategies to expand products and services offered by Wealth Management.
What you will do
- Manage a team of Financial Planners by establishing and enforcing practice management standards, conducting performance reviews, assisting in the development of annual sales plans, coaching for success of sales and services targets, and providing ongoing training and development.
- Provide advice and support to the team to implement, develop and access complex and comprehensive financial solutions that may require a higher level of expertise.
- Provide insights to the team to help them develop business, grow portfolios according to established segment targets, and deliver excellent Wealth advice resulting in exceptional Member experiences.
- Attract and retain a team of Financial Planners by building upon a succession plan strategy and engaging in the recruitment process of new advisors.
- Work collaboratively with internal partners and key external partners to maximize the effectiveness of the distribution network and develop an integrated, seamless experience for Members.
- Collaborate effectively with the Retail District Vice Presidents in the region to support community events, business development activities, and other business partnerships.
- Develop and share ongoing industry-wide best practices, sales, marketing and business development ideas and strategies with peers, Financial Planners, Senior Wealth Advisors and Wealth management leadership.
- Stay current on regulations and industry changes and develop strong COI's within the industry to support your designated region.
- Provide input on the development of annual sales targets, performance criteria, reward and recognition programs, compensation programs and integrated key performance indicators.
- Resolve and troubleshoot issues with your team if Member concerns arise.
- Conduct regular reviews with your team to ensure proper execution of policies and procedures, adherence to compliance requirements and standards, and educate staff in all areas of sales and compliance.
- Promote and champion Wealth Management throughout the delivery channel and Meridian.
How you will succeed
- Bachelor's Degree or diploma preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of related experience in financial services sales management.
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation & other wealth accreditations are an asset.
- Mutual fund license may be required.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Wealth Management products and services.
- Effective planning, analytical, organizational and time management skills.
- Confident presentation and communication skills.
- Comfort learning and adopting new digital tools, with an openness to using AI‑enabled technology to enhance productivity, accuracy, and the Member experience.
- Ability to travel throughout the province of Ontario to meet with team members, and occasionally to our head offices in Etobicoke and St. Catharines for leadership meetings.
Salary Range
CAD $123,400 - $145,000. Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role's requirements may be placed higher within the range.
