Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Quality, or related field
- 1 year+ of related relevant experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including the ability to review and interpret 2D drawings and 3D model
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and how they impact dimensional variation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation review capability
- Strong communication skills and ability to interface with suppliers and engineering teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing
- Familiarity with casting processes
- Knowledge of special processes (heat treatment, coatings, NDT, etc.)
- Experience reviewing dimensional inspection reports or CMM data
- SAP or similar ERP system experience
Job Summary
Insight Global is looking to bring on a Quality Specialist (Mechanical) for a large aerospace manufacturing company. The candidate will support dimensional qualification and monitoring of casting manufacturing tools for aerospace components. This role is responsible for reviewing casting part inspection reports (layout reports), ensuring dimensional compliance to engineering drawings, and supporting the qualification of production tooling.
The successful candidate will act as a technical liaison between engineering and suppliers, ensuring accuracy of inspection documentation and preventing quality escapes in the casting manufacturing process.
Direct casting experience is not mandatory; however, strong competency in blueprint reading, geometric tolerancing (GD&T), and understanding manufacturing processes is essential. Experience working with 2D drawings, 3D models and experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks is required.
