Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Buyer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, issuing purchase orders and ensuring receipts match the vendor supply paperwork. Candidate will also work closely with all departments to ensure materials are ordered correctly and in a timely manner. Duties will also include following up with Vendors on issued orders and updating the team on arrivals, as well as working with the applications/sales team to request updated pricing and delivery times. The selected candidate must possess strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Issuing purchase orders.
  • Pricing and delivery requests to assist applications/sales with quoting.
  • Receiving materials against purchase orders, ensure correct components are received.
  • Work with all departments to ensure materials are ordered and delivered based on project timelines.
  • Maintaining supplier relationships (price negotiations/delivery/etc).
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years working in a buyer position
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Self-disciplined and accountable.
  • Detail oriented and exceptionally organized.
  • The team member will possess a willingness to listen, learn, and ask questions to enhance their applied knowledge within the automation industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Working Hours and Location

  • Full-time position (40hrs per week).
  • Work location will be Prime Automation's location(s) in Waterloo, Ontario.
