Job Description

Role and Facility Information


Fraser Health Authority (FHA) and the Mental Health and Substance Use Program are seeking a psychiatrist. This position involves a combination of Inpatient Psychiatry at Chilliwack General Hospital and Community Psychiatry in the Chilliwack, Agassiz, and Hope Communities, with a primary focus on adult psychiatry.


Responsibilities



  • Deliver high‑quality care to general psychiatric patients within multidisciplinary teams across all sites.

  • Perform assessment, treatment, and consultation, as well as conducting family meetings, participating in case conferences, facilitating discharge planning, and collaborating with other physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Promote continuity of care by fostering positive working relationships with all involved in patient care and advocating for the psychiatric needs of individual patients.

  • Participate in the ECT and on‑call rotation.

  • Contribute to the medical education program for University of British Columbia (UBC) undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. Upon receiving a CPSBC license, arrangements will be made to apply for a clinical appointment with the Department of Psychiatry, UBC.
