This brand-new position within Vancouver Island Region will lead the development for the systemic review of health programs and services in remote and isolated communities throughout the region.
Title: Project Lead, Health Services in Remote and Isolated Communities
Salary: $88,948 - $99,412 - $120,341 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Term until August 31, 2028
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Vancouver Island, on-site. Some remote community travel may be necessary throughout the seasons.
About The Role
As Project Lead, Health Services in Remote and Isolated Communities, you will support regional leadership and teams through project management, and a systemic review of health programs and services in remote and isolated communities on the Island.
The Project Lead develops and leads a variety of projects including development of project scope statements, engagement plans and pathways, and overall project planning leading to a thorough and detailed assessment of the needs of the region to address the issues identified and informed through engagement with First Nations and formal tables, including but not limited to the Regional Table and Health Director Tables.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have/be:
Education & Occupational Certification, Experience (REQUIRED)
University degree or equivalent training and experience in related fields, such as business, science, social services, or healthcare.
Recent and relevant experience in Project Leadership (usually acquired over a period of 5 years) within the context of First Nations health and wellness or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge
Knowledge of the region's First Nations culture, traditions and communication protocols
Knowledge of the governance landscape of First Nation health and wellness in BC
Knowledge of BC First Nation health and wellness challenges, opportunities and priorities, particularly as related to remote and isolated communities
Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management methodologies, best practices, techniques and tools
Competencies

Operations – Ability to provide leadership and management to lead operations including managing activities, prioritizing, balancing demands while working collaboratively within FNHA and across the health and wellness system to problem solve and manage change
Organizes and delivers information appropriately. Listen actively.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
