Overview
FYidoctors is seeking a Full-Time Optometrist to join our growing practice in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a busy, community-rooted practice with strong patient demand, modern technology, and flexibility to shape your ideal schedule.
The Clinic
Serving the community for over 40 years, our clinic joined the FYidoctors family in 2021. We care for a diverse patient base, including families, seniors, and new Canadians. The clinic currently operates Monday to Friday, with the potential to expand to six days per week and Saturdays in the future. We’re excited to welcome a new OD to our team and are exploring opportunities to expand services in myopia control and binocular vision to meet growing community needs.
Patient Flow & Practice Style
- 12–15 patients per day, with opportunity to increase
- Exams scheduled at 20–30 minutes
- Booking 3–4 weeks out, indicating strong demand
Technology & Equipment
- Optomap
- Corneal Topographer
- Visual Field Analyzer
- Autorefractor
- Manual and automated lensometers
- iLux
- There is strong interest in expanding dry eye services, with future potential for IPL based on demand
Team & Work Environment
You’ll be supported by a strong, collaborative team, including licensed Opticians and experienced front-end staff. The clinic offers a dedicated exam lane and the incoming OD will have their own space to practice.
