Practice Description


The Kelowna General Hospital is recruiting within the Department of Medicine, Division of Neurology. Join a team of neurologists focused on exceptional neurological care for all, with opportunities in medical education, research, quality improvement and leadership. We work closely with Interior Health and the University of British Columbia Okanagan Southern Medical Program.


Responsibilities



  • Provide acute care coverage with hospital‑based neurology services and outpatient practice.

  • Participate in the neurology acute care on‑call service (expected frequency of 1:5 or less).

  • Engage in active clinical programs in stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, neuro‑ophthalmology and headache.

  • Teach medical trainees at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, including medical students, residents and other trainees.

  • Apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the University of British Columbia Department of Medicine and contribute to clinical teaching.


Qualifications



  • Interest in general neurology practice with potential subspecialty interests.

  • Ability to work in a teaching environment and contribute to the UBC Southern Medical Program.


Clinic Details


Kelowna General Hospital (KGH), one of BC’s leading healthcare centres, has approximately 400 beds and over 84,000 emergency department visits a year. It hosts the Interior Heart & Surgical Centre, a modern maternity ward, neonatal intensive care unit, dedicated pediatric ward, adult and adolescent psychiatry units, an expanded emergency and ambulatory care department, and advanced diagnostic services including CT, MRI, angiography, EEG and EMG.


Compensation and Benefits



  • Fee‑for‑Service compensation type with an estimated remuneration of Fee‑for‑Service + MOCAP Level 1.

  • Relocation funding up to $9,000 for moves within BC, $12,000 for moves within Canada, and $15,000 for relocations from outside Canada (subject to change; confirm rates at the time of offer).
