Job Description

Our client in the Toronto area needs to hire a Mold Maker to join their team.

Work Setting: On Site

Location Details: Toronto

This role is a hands-on mold‑making position within a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining molds used to produce components such as columns, panels, decorative facades, and custom structural elements. This position requires strong craftsmanship, woodworking ability, and experience working with various mold‑making materials. You will collaborate closely with design and production teams to ensure molds meet dimensional accuracy, quality standards, and production timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Mold Fabrication: Interpret drawings and CAD designs to construct accurate molds using wood, fiberglass, silicone, urethane, and metal.

Mold Maintenance: Repair, modify, and maintain existing molds to ensure consistent production quality.

Production Support: Work with design and manufacturing teams to optimize mold designs for efficiency and manufacturability.

Quality & Precision: Ensure molds meet all dimensional, structural, and aesthetic specifications.

Tool Operation: Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and related machinery.

Workspace Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe mold‑making environment.

Documentation: Record mold specifications, maintenance activities, and design changes.

Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and quality standards throughout the mold‑making process.

Skills & Qualifications:

Education: No formal license required; hands‑on mold‑making or carpentry background strongly preferred.

Experience: Proven experience as a mold maker in architectural or industrial manufacturing; woodworking experience is highly desirable.

Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints; familiarity with CAD for reading purposes is an asset.

Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and CNC machinery (asset).

Craftsmanship: Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality molds.

Physical Requirements: Ability to handle materials, tools, and physical tasks in a workshop environment.
