Make an impact with our Assurance Professional Standards - Technical Services team as Designated Professional or as a Manager. This diverse team of professionals provides best-in-class industry and technical expertise to internally drive the success of our Assurance and Accounting practice. As a trusted advisor, you’ll advise and assist team members on financial reporting matters including interpreting and providing guidance on new accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside managers and Partners to deliver industry and technical expertise on a variety of technical assurance and accounting matters


• Promote the importance of quality control in all Assurance and Accounting engagements and play a role in driving our quality initiatives


• Research and respond to queries under ASPE, IFRS, and CAS


• Maintain knowledge of changes in the profession through research and by attending relevant industry events and training/information session


• Support the development and maintenance of our accounting and assurance tools and protocol


• Assist with the development of accounting and assurance related training in MNP’s extensive in-house education programs; Opportunity to facilitate learning and development programs for Assurance and Accounting engagement team member


• Prepare and review high-quality deliverables, including written reports, presentations, correspondence, and other technical material and


• Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve our work processes

Skills And Experience

• Completion of a CPA designation


• Written and verbal French and English language skills, due to frequent collaboration with English-speaking teams/clients across Canada and some client deliverables/regulatory reporting obligation are in English


• 2 to 5 years of recent accounting and assurance related experience at a public accounting firm


• Strong technical writing and project management skills, and an understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles
  
• Demonstrate analytical research skills and critical thinking


• The following would be considered an asset:


• General knowledge and experience with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) or Accounting Standards for Not-For Profit Organizations (ASNPO)


• General understanding of use cases for artificial intelligence (AI), environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles & accounting for financial instruments
