Lifeguard and Swim Instructor
Job Description
We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Swim Instructors to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a passion for teaching swimming to individuals of all ages and abilities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. You will be responsible for teaching water safety, swim techniques and helping students build confidence in the water.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach swim lessons to individuals or groups of various ages and skill levels, ranging from beginner to advanced.
- Plan, organize, and implement lesson plans that are age and skill-appropriate.
- Provide clear instruction on water safety, proper swimming techniques.
- Monitor and assess the progress of students, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with students, parents, and staff.
- Ensure the safety of all participants during lessons by enforcing pool safety rules and monitoring the aquatic environment.
- Adjust teaching methods based on the needs of individual students, ensuring they meet their personal swim goals.
- Communicate with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Respond calmly and efficiently in case of emergencies or water-related incidents.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a swim instructor (required).
- Must have a G2 license or higher and use of a vehicle.
- Current Certifications: Standard First Aid CPR-C, National Lifeguard, Swim Instructor and Lifesaving Instructor.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Ability to maintain a safe, engaging, and encouraging learning environment.
- Ability to spend extended periods in the pool.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Passion for teaching and helping others develop essential life skills.
Work Schedule:
- Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on lesson schedules
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $25.00 per hour
