Legal Summer Student

TAQA North is currently searching for a Legal Summer Student in our Calgary office. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, you will provide assistance to the Legal team and gain a unique perspective into the in-house legal environment. You will also support the Contracts team to gain hands-on experience with contract negotiation and compliance processes.

This full-time temporary position will commence in May 2026 and will last approximately 4 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with precedent drafting, contract review, legal research, and administrative matters
• Support the management of litigation matters
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of Legal and Contracts teams' processes, and their role within TAQA North.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including Business Development, HSSE, Marketing, Human Resources, Operations, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Land, and Joint Ventures
• Manage assigned projects from start to finish and present outcomes that demonstrate your impact and learning.
• Participate in stakeholder engagement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in first or second year law at a Canadian University.
• Prior intern work experience is considered an asset.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Shows initiative, takes ownership of work and ensures follow through/completion of tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• The successful candidate will be required to provide satisfactory references and pass a criminal background check.
