Landscape Maintenance Labourer
Job Description
Onocon Group is seeking dedicated Landscape Labourers to join our property maintenance teams. Through Onocon Property Management, we handle year-round landscape maintenance, lawn care, seasonal clean-ups, and snow/ice removal for residential, commercial, and industrial clients across the Greater Toronto Area. As a Landscape Labourer, you will support crews in delivering high-quality outdoor services, ensuring client properties are well-maintained while upholding Onocon's standards for safety, reliability, and teamwork.
Responsibilities – Landscape & Snow
· Uphold landscaping designs by planting new decorative bushes, flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees; trimming overgrown limbs, hedges, and leaves; removing weeds and dead plants; and applying fertilizer to enhance growth.
· Perform general maintenance duties such as mowing, edging, weeding, mulching, cleaning walkways, blowing debris, and other related tasks.
· Assist in loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment from company trucks/trailers.
· Operate basic landscape equipment including lawnmowers (push, ride-on, zero-turn), leaf blowers, hedge trimmers and chainsaws.
· Follow directions from site foremen, supervisors, or crew leaders to complete tasks efficiently.
· Maintain a clean worksite during and after all jobs, including proper disposal of debris.
· Uphold Health & Safety rules and regulations at all times, including constant use of provided PPE.
· Always be in uniform and maintain a standard of personal hygiene.
· Demonstrate good communication, decision-making, and productivity in team settings.
Qualifications/Skills – Landscape & Snow
· Experience in landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, or a related field preferred.
· Strong time-management and multi-tasking skills; comfortable working with a team or independently.
· Reliable, punctual, hardworking, and highly productive.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· WHMIS certification (mandatory).
· Working at Heights and/or Standard First Aid (preferred).
· Physically able to meet job demands: lift 50 lbs overhead, bend/kneel for full shifts, work in varying weather conditions.
· Valid Ontario G-class driver's license.
Work Conditions
· Primarily outdoors in all weather conditions/environments, with occasional indoor tasks.
· Exposure to moving mechanical parts/equipment; constant proper use of provided PPE (hard hat, safety vest, glasses, gloves, etc.).
· Flexibility for extended hours during peak seasons or winter events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
