Heavy Duty Mechanic / Millwright – Field Service (Airdrie & Central Alberta)

Full‑time | Home Daily | Company Service Truck Provided

A leading industrial service provider is hiring an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright to join our Field Service team. This role supports natural gas compression and gas processing equipment across Airdrie and Central Alberta.

• Perform startups, servicing, repairs, overhauls, and warranty work on natural gas compression equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engine and compressor issues in the field.
• Provide recommendations to the Service Coordinator and clients.
• Verify mechanical settings including alignment, pull‑downs, rod runout, ESM, fuel gas pressure, crankcase pressure, flange torquing, and cooler checks.
• Prioritize repairs based on downtime, customer impact, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, labor entries, expenses, and parts orders.
• Complete all paperwork for startups, service calls, and warranty work.
• Mentor and provide direction to apprentice mechanics.
• Order parts as needed to complete field repairs.

• Experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, Millwright, or Field Service Technician.
• Strong experience in compressors, diagnostic testing, commissioning, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, electronics troubleshooting, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience with natural gas compression units and gas processing equipment.
• Familiarity with engines such as Waukesha, CAT, Cummins, Arrow.
• Familiarity with compressors such as Ariel, Sullair, D-R, Mycom.
• Ability to work independently in remote locations.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• New package commissioning experience is an asset.

This is a Permanent position based out of Airdrie, AB.

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $59.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Airdrie,AB.
