Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all technical support issues.
  • Respond to user requests related to:
  • Windows 11
  • Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • VPN connectivity
  • VOIP phone systems
  • iPhone setup and troubleshooting

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution

  • Diagnose and resolve basic technical problems involving hardware, software, printers, and general connectivity.
  • Document all actions, resolutions, and updates in the internal IT ticketing system.

Device Configuration & Deployment

  • Configure and install laptops, desktops, corporate software, and peripherals.
  • Prepare devices for new hires, replacements, and refresh cycles.

Maintenance & Inventory

  • Assist with updating and maintaining IT equipment inventory.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including updates and basic system checks.

General Support

  • Support the IT team with various operational tasks and projects as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum requirement

  • Has obtained or is currently in the process of completing a diploma in the area of IT Technical Support.
  • Knowledge or experience with Windows 10, Office 365; VMware and Windows Server.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and peripherals in a networked environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. (French and English).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be customer service oriented and work well in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills; must be comfortable handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to solve problems and explain solutions to end-users.
  • Ability to un-box and lift monitors and computers.
  • Team Spirit with a positive attitude.

Sika Canada is seeking ambitious students looking to gain valuable IT experience. We have an exciting opportunity for an intern to participate in a work-term opportunity with our Information Technology Team. The preferred candidate will be trained to assist with the day-to-day support operations of approximately 450 users located across the country. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to assist the full time IT staff with other special projects as time permits.

The candidate will have exposure and will become more knowledgeable about:

  • Hardware (desktops, laptops and tablets)
  • SikaNOW ticketing system
  • System imaging MEM
  • Extreme hardware (switches, wireless AP`s)
  • Ring Central Cloud Telephone
  • IOS mobile device deployment within the business
  • Office 365 & MS Teams
  • Windows 11
  • Network Printers
  • Active Directory & Azure
