POSITION OVERVIEW

As a vital member of the accounting team, the Intermediate Accountant will have full-cycle accounting experience and will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and analyzing financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounting systems.

  • Execute full-cycle accounting activities for Accounts Receivable (AR) and provide support for Accounts Payable (AP) as needed.

  • Process financial transactions including billing, collections, payroll support, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.

  • Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies to ensure accuracy of financial records.

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Support the preparation of financial reports and conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes and provide insights to support informed decision-making.

  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of billing inputs and revenue recognition.

  • Monitor and control expenses by reviewing reimbursement requests, verifying supporting documentation, and ensuring adherence to expense policies.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal financial controls.

  • Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide documentation during audit reviews.

  • Prepare and file required tax returns and financial reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Support payroll processing and ensure accurate financial coding and flow of payroll data to the general ledger.

  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations.

  • Provide guidance, mentoring, or training to junior team members as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in accounting, finance, or related field
  • CPA Certification or working towards strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience doing full cycle accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and basic understanding of financial statements
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Preferably, prior experience in a finance or accounting function with experience interacting in ERP software

HOURS OF WORK

Regular work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm.
