Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty hydrovac trucks to safely excavate and expose underground utilities, supporting our construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment on challenging projects, ensuring safety, precision, and efficiency at every step.
Responsibilities
- Operate hydrovac trucks to excavate around underground utilities with precision and safety.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of hydrovac equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment on construction sites.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of excavation sites, including coordinating with other heavy equipment operators.
- Support excavation activities by utilizing mechanical knowledge of excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, horizontal drills, tankers, and paving machinery.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate excavation tasks and ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain detailed records of daily operations, safety checks, and equipment usage.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating hydrovac trucks or similar heavy equipment in construction or utility environments.
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, horizontal drills, tankers, and paving equipment.
- Valid commercial driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with excavator operation is preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment or materials as needed.
- Prior experience working on underground utility or fiber optic projects is an asset. Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 60 per week
