Celtic Contracting is seeking skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team for the up coming season. In this vital role, you will operate a variety of heavy machinery to support construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and precision on-site. Duties
- Multiple years of experience operating heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, excavators, graders, packers, skid steers, rock trucks, and other machinery to perform excavation, grading, lifting, and material handling tasks
- Safely maneuver large vehicles such as front loaders, dozers, rock trucks, water trucks, and excavators across construction sites
- Must be able to adhere to safety guidelines and regulations at all times.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to execute tasks efficiently while adhering to project timelines
- Support the setup and breakdown of construction sites by moving materials and equipment as needed
- Able to work in a drug and alcohol free environment.
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as dozers, loaders, rock trucks, excavators, graders, and related equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting basic issues with machinery and performing routine maintenance
- Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with safety standards and operational procedures
- Valid class 5 driver's license is a must. Class 1A, 3A, or G endorsement not required but an asset
- Ability to be able to work alone or with little supervision
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and site supervisors
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
