Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing various types of heavy equipment. This role is crucial in ensuring that our machinery operates efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall productivity of our operations.
Duties
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, skid steers, and loaders.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
- Operate heavy equipment to test functionality post-repair.
- Utilize power tools and welding equipment for repairs and modifications.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed on equipment.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and operators to ensure optimal performance of machinery.
- Follow safety protocols while working with heavy equipment and power tools.
Requirements
Preference for this position will be given to a red seal journeyman heavy duty mechanic.
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams.
- Experience with welding techniques is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
