A day in the life
Start your day with a team huddle to gain alignment on shared & individual priorities, share wins and get help with roadblocks.
Then, get started on today's work Whether it be a spatial analysis that needs to be completed, creating mobile & web applications using Esri's Enterprise and ArcGIS Online technologies, or developing scripted processes to automate tasks, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of our businesses at J.D. Irving, Limited.
This position requires full-time on-site presence.
Responsibilities
Use world class software to prepare and deliver high quality spatial information products
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements & execute on delivery
Use maps and data sets for spatial analysis to support business decision-making
Develop and support a variety of Desktop, Mobile and Web GIS apps across the various JDI business units
Compile spatial data sets for a variety of sources, including LiDAR, census data, Global Positioning System (GPS) data, field observations, satellite images, and environmental monitoring data
Prepare reports of geographical statistics based on spatial data
Leverage the ESRI platform to deliver various location-based analysis for the Forestry, Transportation, Retail and other J.D. Irving, Limited Industries
Support & administer the GIS Platforms for J.D. Irving, Limited businesses
Qualifications
A University Degree or Community College Diploma with a focus on Geographic Information Systems
Training or experience using the Esri platform including ArcGIS 11.x, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online
Training or experience using FME Form & Flow
Training or experience using Esri's mobile platform including Field Maps and Survey123
Customer focused: motivated by inspiring others to do things differently

A continuous learner: acquiring new skills and software applications is second nature
A practiced communicator with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Organized, analytical and business savvy
Drivers license required
Bonus
Esri certifications considered an asset
Training or experience using Python and using Azure DevOps considered an asset
Training or experience using Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst, Statistical Analysis, 3D Analyst and Image Server extensions will be considered an asset
Azure Fundamentals certification an asset
