Overview
The Central Okanagan Maternity Clinic (COMC) is seeking family physicians to locum. Dates and shifts are flexible. The Family Physicians will provide comprehensive prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care. Patients are seen throughout all stages of their pregnancy and up to 8 weeks postpartum. The Family Physicians will also ensure that these clinical services are provided in a culturally safe and appropriate way to the local Indigenous communities. Intrapartum care is provided at Kelowna General Hospital 24/7, by clinic providers and also other maternity providers in the community. The successful physicians will collaborate with other practitioners to meet the care needs of mother and baby, whether the birth is planned to take place locally or at another site based on the required level of care.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care for patients
- Deliver intrapartum care at Kelowna General Hospital 24/7, in collaboration with other maternity providers
- Collaborate with other practitioners to meet the care needs of mother and baby
- Practice in a culturally safe and appropriate way for local Indigenous communities
- Work in the COMC outpatient clinic, open 5 days a week from 0900-1600, with multiple shift options (1-2 clinics per week 9-12 am or 1-4 pm; 1-2 24 h call shifts minimum per month)
- Participate in call services as part of outpatient clinic operations

Qualifications
Licensure requirements: CPSBC Full License; CCFP Mandatory; CMPA Mandatory; Obstetrical Experience Mandatory
