Company Description

Medicine in Motion Sports Medicine and Arthritis Care Centre is seeking TWO full-time family physicians to take over family practices from physicians who have relocated. This is a multi-disciplinary healthcare facility that also has a family physician, a sports medicine physician, an orthopedic surgeon, physiotherapists, massage therapists, a Canadian certified pedorthist (custom orthotics) and orthopedic bracing technicians assessing patients on-site. The family practice space has been newly renovated and has an EMR (MedAccess) in place. Signing bonus + reduced overhead for the first few months is available. Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures;


• Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention


• Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners


• Act as a patient’s advocate


• Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations


• Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
