Job Description

UPS is currently looking for Part‑time Package Pre‑loaders to work from our Nanaimo Package Facility.

• Position Title: Pre-Loaders


• Position Type: Permanent Part‑time


• Work Hours: 4:00 AM – 9:00 AM*


• Workdays: Monday to Friday*


• Location: Madsen Rd, Nanaimo BC

*Shift schedules may vary based on operational requirements

Preloaders are responsible for unloading and loading packages off and on trailers, air canisters and other vehicles early in the morning. Other responsibilities may include:

• Lifting, lowering, and moving of packages weighing between 10 to 70 lbs.


• Scanning and sorting packages based on postal codes, addresses, and package dimensions.


• Understanding and recognizing postal codes, routing charts and maps.


• Standing closely with conveyor, roller belts and other equipment in the warehouse.


• Working in a team environment to ensure efficient transfer of packages.

Qualifications

• Available to work Monday to Friday*


• Ability to follow a set of safety and standard procedures;


• Good organizational and multi‑tasking skills


• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced and physically demanding work environment;


• Able to regularly and safely lift packages between 10‑lbs up to 70‑lbs unassisted;


• Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.


• Warehouse experience is considered an asset but not required.
