The Strategy Management Branch, Ministry of Community Safety (formerly the Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety) is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented, collaborative and innovative leader for a permanent position as the Director of Intergovernmental Strategy.
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Planning and Intergovernmental Relations, this position supports ministry senior leadership by providing strategic policy advice to advance the government and ministries' strategic priorities through intergovernmental tables, relationships and events.

The ideal candidate have a proven ability to provide expert strategic advice to senior management regarding intergovernmental issues to proactively ensure their understanding of the FPT landscape, how these could impact Ministry priorities, and recommend how the ministries can capitalize on FPT opportunities to advance its strategic plans and priorities.
Typically, the knowledge for this position would be attained through extensive experience in intergovernmental relations, public policy, or public administration in the public sector.
Primary Responsibilities
Working closely with functional areas across the ministry to proactively support the Assistant Deputy Minsters', Assistant Deputy Attorney Generals', Deputy Ministers' and Minsters' roles as various FPT committee members, chairs and co-chairs.
Provide expert strategic advice to senior management regarding intergovernmental issues to proactively ensure their understanding of the FPT landscape, how these could impact Ministry priorities, and recommend how the ministries can capitalize on FPT opportunities to advance its strategic plans and priorities.
Represent the Government of Saskatchewan at senior officials' tables as required.
Assess and evaluate intergovernmental risks and opportunities and provide advice and recommendations on how Saskatchewan can best position itself.
Build positive working relationships with federal, provincial and territorial counterparts.
Working closely with Saskatchewan FPT table leads, chairs and co-chairs, support agenda coordination, development, and follow up tasks for meetings/calls to ensure ministry officials have a clear understanding of next steps, outstanding issues, and decisions made.
Develop and coordinate a justice ministry network of employees leading or supporting intergovernmental work to share information around intergovernmental initiatives in order to ensure alignment of priorities and informed decision-making by all parties.
