The Education Funding branch of the Ministry of Education is seeking a strategic, creative and dynamic individual for the position of Director of Education Financial Policy. This position is responsible for the evaluation of education funding policy and the development of the methodology for providing annual operating funding for school divisions. This position oversees the application of the funding distribution model, which allocates more than $2.4 billion annually to school divisions in support of government's objectives and the education sector strategic plan.
This position provides province-wide strategic leadership in education funding policy and leads the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education finance policy in Saskatchewan. You will work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of internal and external parties to ensure integrity and accountability for PreK-12 financial operations.
Our ideal candidate will be skilled in strategic planning, policy development, project management and program evaluation. You will have a solid understanding of government decision-making processes and possess strong negotiation and mediation skills. You will bring experience in both qualitative analysis and quantitative modeling.
Through excellent communication and interpersonal skills, this position will develop strong working relationships with the PreK-12 sector. You will have strong leadership skills to develop high performing, successful teams.
Ideally, the successful candidate with possess a graduate or post-graduate degree in public/business administration and a financial background such as an accounting designation or other post-graduate degree involving quantitative analysis.
