Digital Production Designer
Job Description
This design role supports the execution and expansion of established brand systems by producing high-quality, production-ready graphic assets. The position requires strong attention to brand guidelines, technical accuracy, and print production standards, with opportunities to grow creative and professional skills through collaboration and hands-on experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Learn and apply established brand guides and style decks to ensure all design work remains on-brand, on-model, and visually consistent across all assets.
- Evolve and expand existing brand systems by creating updated visual assets and design extensions that align with approved aesthetics while introducing fresh, innovative design solutions.
- Produce original graphic assets that demonstrate creativity and problem-solving while maintaining brand integrity and licensed IP requirements.
- Design production-ready artwork using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat (PDF) for both digital and physical outputs.
- Build vector-based and raster graphics optimized for large-format print, die-cut, and print-and-cut workflows, utilizing industry-standard file structures and naming conventions.
- Create tiled and panelized print files for wall graphics and large-scale installations, ensuring accurate overlaps, seams, and alignment tolerances for seamless assembly.
- Manage color accuracy and consistency across assets by setting up and maintaining correct Pantone (PMS), CMYK, RGB, and ICC color profiles according to production requirements.
- Ensure all artwork meets industry and licensor standards, including resolution, color management, and output specifications for commercial printing.
- Collaborate with designers, brand partners, and production teams to meet creative and technical requirements while continuing to develop professional design skills.
- Organize, archive, and version control design files to support scalability, reusability, and efficient brand expansion.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Illustration, or a related field is preferred.
- 0–2 years of professional or internship experience in graphic design, production art, or print design (internships, freelance, and academic projects welcome).
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis on Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat (PDF) for production workflows.
- Foundational understanding of brand systems and style guides, with the ability to follow established visual standards and apply feedback.
- Basic experience creating vector and raster artwork for print applications, including large-format graphics and print-and-cut files.
- Familiarity with print production fundamentals, including bleeds, trims, safe areas, resolution, and file setup for commercial printing.
- Introductory knowledge of color management, including Pantone (PMS), CMYK, RGB, and basic use of color profiles.
- Some experience with tiled or panelized artwork for large-scale graphics (academic, internship, or project-based experience acceptable).
- Strong attention to detail and organization, with the ability to manage files, layers, and versions accurately.
- Ability to take direction and incorporate feedback, while demonstrating curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Portfolio demonstrates design fundamentals, brand consistency, and production-ready artwork.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- This is a temporary, 12-month contract position, with the potential for extension based on business needs and performance.
- This is a full-time position that is required Monday through Friday with the availability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
- This is a salaried position, with compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Must be able to successfully pass a security clearance.
