Crane Operator- 15-30 ton
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Journeyperson Crane Operator to join our construction team. You will operate mobile cranes in the 15–30 ton range to lift, move, and accurately place materials and equipment on various job sites in and around Edmonton.

Location: Edmonton and surrounding areas. Must have a vehicle to travel to worksites
Project Types
- Commercial new build and/or renovationsIndustrial plant sites new build and/or renovations
- Industrial water and drainage which includes underground storm drains/tunnels/shafts and/or wastewater wells/basins/chambers.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8-10 hours a day
- Must be flexible to travel and work weekends or holidays to accommodate business needs.
Duties
- Operate mobile cranes (15–30 ton capacity) in accordance with load charts, lift plans, and site instructions
- Perform daily pre-use inspections and complete required safety documentation
- Coordinate lifts with riggers and signal persons using standard hand signals or radio communication
- Maintain compliance with Alberta OHS regulations, CSA standards, and company safety policies
- Report equipment issues, hazards, and near misses promptly
- Maintain crane cleanliness and operational readiness
Qualifications
- Alberta Journeyperson Crane Operator Certification
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience operating mobile cranes in industrial/commercial construction environments.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean drivers history
- Current safety certifications such as CSTS and WHMIS
Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test. The test includes legal drugs (Cannabis/THC) and illegal drugs
- Ability to provide a clear criminal record check (when required)
- Strong understanding of load charts, rigging practices, and lift planning
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced, high-risk construction environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Working Conditions
- Work performed primarily on active construction sites in and around Edmonton, and surrounding areas.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow.
- Physically demanding environment requiring climbing, standing, and sitting for extended periods.
- Travel to multiple job sites may be required.
