Responsibilities:
- Own and manage full-cycle accounting including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for both Canadian and U.S. operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Oversee general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, and fixed assets, resolving complex accounting issues
- Lead and mentor a diverse accounting team, fostering accountability and growth, and managing staff development
- Identify and independently solve problems, driving process improvement and efficiency across financial operations
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital needs, providing clear visibility into cash positions
- Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements, coordinating with external parties
- Lead and support special initiatives, including system enhancements and process redesign, acting as a finance partner to cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
- CPA designation is a non-negotiable
- The ideal profile is a solid Controller, Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager
- Proven experience owning the month-end close process
- Experience managing a small to mid-sized accounting team
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a focus on independent resolution
- Experience with Dynamics Business Central is preferred
