The Role

The Associate Director, Physical Education, Athletics and Wellness at the Royal Military College (RMC) in Kingston, doesn’t just oversee sports, fitness, physical education courses and recreation— they shape the future of well‑rounded, capable officers for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). As a strategist, motivator and change agent all in one, they are a catalyst for meaningful change. Whether it’s a new training regimen or a fresh approach to team morale, they challenge conventional approaches. They’re on the ground, inspiring Naval and Officer‑Cadets to push their limits, build esprit de corps, and lead with moral character. At the same time, they work closely with CAF leadership to integrate athletics into the RMC degree program (academics, military training and education, and bilingualism). Teamwork is paramount. Overseeing a large team, the Associate Director fosters mutual respect and trust, creating an environment where everyone thrives. Keeping the team sharp and up‑to‑date is crucial with active professional development, fostering a culture of growth. The Associate Director encourages open dialogue, where everyone shares their insights and learns from each other. Ensuring delivery of university courses, managing varsity programs and keeping recreation clubs active, the Associate Director is the ultimate collaborator.
